Sadly this is even something that we have to be aware of... those precious Mom's and Dad's that took care of us as children are just as apt to become victims too.  As our society grew up and grew out to all four corners of the world, families distances left the care for parents to others.  The fact is that they are in a world of technology that many don't understand, nor do they have the resources to assist them.  Heck my mom won't even do the answering machine, forget anything that has blinking clocks on them.  At the turn of the century families were relatively close by and in many circumstances even in the same house.  The depression hardships forced families to share the duties of all ages from newborn to geriatric. Parents worked and grandparents tended grand children until children tended grandparents.  Yesterday, I was listening to the evening news and an old man had literally been held against his will by a man and a woman who were supposed to be his caregivers.  They took all of his money and then eventually returned him home and fled the area.  Others are being abused in nursing homes, and even at the hands of their own children.  Laws are raising up now to protect the elderly population and are severely prosecuting those who are guilty.  Rather than be redundant in my information to you, I offer up a site that will inform you from A to Z on all aspects of this abhorrent crime and includes resources if you know anyone in this situation.  Just click on the link below.
